Professional background

Ms. Metoyer has been in the field of biomedical communications since 1987. She has edited research manuscripts and grant applications, analyzed data, written articles for journals and newsletters, coordinated the review of numerous biomedical manuscripts, and given presentations on biomedical publishing. The manuscripts she has edited cover a wide variety of biomedical fields, including oncology, genetics, hematology, pathology, nursing, biochemistry, molecular biology, psychology, and primary care medicine. Ms. Metoyer is a past editor-in-chief of the American Medical Writers Association Journal (1994-1995) and past manuscript editor of the journals Neurofibromatosis and Houston Medicine. She has received many professional awards for writing, editing, and professional leadership, including the President's Award from the American Medical Writers Association. Her research related to professional discourse on human sexuality has also been recognized with a Certificate of Achievement for Outstanding Work from the International Psychohistorical Association.
